Sin Brings Pain

Sin Brings Pain

The natural consequence of sin is pain.

Scripture – Genesis 3:6-7 – Original Sin

So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate, and she also gave some to her husband who was with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both were opened, and they knew they were naked. And they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves loincloths.

Our Story

Sin is introduced into our world as Adam and Eve exchange the Creator for the creation, genuine love for self-love, themselves for God, and life for death. There is not a more sobering text in all of Scripture. At this one point, everything changes. Life abundantly instantly began marching towards death and decay, and this is the reality of every life after Adam and Eve.

We try hard to convince ourselves that sin is okay in our circumstance and context. We do our very best to justify and create an environment where sin is not just wrong but good. All of our excuses and justifications are reduced to us choosing ourselves over God. And the result of it all is PAIN. When sin is before us, and the natural desires of our flesh are pulling us away from God, we do not think of the consequences. We do not see what lies ahead and what is impacted forever. It is as if everything around us becomes blurry and all we can see is the sin we want. The reality remains there is so much more past the sin. Past the time we are currently in. Our lives and everything around us is affected by our sin; we just do not want to recognize it.

Let us remember there is no more delicate time to remain steadfast in obedience and righteousness. Look at our culture and the current situation of our nation. Sin has a price. Sin has a consequence. Eventually, sin only leads to pain!
