God’s Word is from Him – Not Us

Galatians 2:8 – For He [God] who worked through Peter for his apostolic ministry to the circumcised worked also through me for mine to the Gentiles.

Paul writes a letter to the church in Galatia encouraging them towards Christ-likeness and reminding them he has been chosen by God. He did not want the church in Galatia to think the message he proclaimed was from him. No, the message Paul relays to the church in Galatia is from God. The Gospel proclaimed to the Galatians (and us) is the only Gospel. There is no other way to the Father except through faith in Jesus Christ.

The same is true for God’s people today. We have the privilege of sharing truth with those who need to see Christ for who He is. Christ is the King of Kings who willingly died for us and takes the punishment we deserve. We also have the privilege of showing truth to our brothers and sisters who may be straying from the way God has called each one of us to live. In each situation, we must speak truth in love. We must show the way that is right and thereby show the ways that are wrong. We, people, do not like to hear we are wrong, but there are times when we need to hear the Truth spoken to our heart, mind and life.

Thank God for those who love us enough to push us towards sanctification. Thank God we push people towards sanctification by sharing Truth. When it is our turn to reveal the Truth of God, we must do what Paul does – show them the message is God’s Word not our word. Invite them to look at the Bible with you and see what God has commanded. Let them see it for themselves and watch the Holy Spirit reveal to them the glory of God.

Today, you may need to lovingly approach someone with Truth. Show them the Truth in God’s Word and let the Holy Spirit do the rest!
